Admissions/Fees

Enrolment Process

Oaks accept children from age 3 to 12 years old.  Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Families are invited to visit the setting, speak with our staff and observe the classroom.  Children are welcome to attend the visit.   For parents to have an understanding of the Montessori approach and curriculum prior to visiting is really important.

After visiting, if you wish to enrol your child at Oaks you will need to complete an application form and pay a non-refundable registration fee of £150.

Deposit

In order to secure your child’s place at Oaks you will be asked to pay a deposit of £500.  If you decide not to proceed with the place being held for your child this deposit will not be refunded.

The deposit it payable at the time of securing your child’s place and will be refunded to you when your child leaves Oaks Montessori.

Trial Period

Children are invited to complete a two week trial prior to joining.  The trial allows time for the child to experience the Montessori approach and our staff to consider whether the classroom will suit the child and whether we can meet their needs.  The child’s previous school reports are also considered.  If at the end of the trial Oaks does not feel able to offer the child a place your deposit will be returned to you minus fees charged for the time attended.

Please note that in all cases we reserve the right to place a child in a class outside of these age brackets to the class we feel we would best meet their needs.

Additional Support

For children with additional support needs (either suspected or diagnosed), parents are requested to provide relevant information during the application process.  We will do all that we can to support any child that wishes to attend our setting to the best of our ability.  If we are not sure that we will be able to meet the child’s needs, this will be communicated to parents.  The child may be offered a place subject to a satisfactory probationary period which will give staff more time to access and be sure the child's needs can be met.

Waiting Pool Guidelines

Oaks operates a waiting pool rather than a waiting list.  Siblings of current pupils and children that have attended other Montessori settings are given priority.  Other considerations affecting children’s admission are as follows: the balance of ages in the class and whether the setting can support any additional needs (including English as an Additional Language).

Fees

Oaks is very committed to doing all that it can to accommodate pupils from a range of financial backgrounds.  With this in mind, if you would like your child to attend the setting but cannot afford to pay full fees please do get in contact us and we will do all that we can to make it possible.

Please note that Oaks is a small setting and we need to generate a certain threshold financially each year in order to operate as we would like and without compromising on standards.

Fee Structure

Fees are payable per annum in twelve equal monthly instalments which are due on the 1st of each month.  Late payment will incur a £20 penalty.
